How to achieve goals for your photography business
Today I’m continuing the series “For Photographers“. Last week I talked about finding your ideal client. If you Missed that post I suggest you read that one first before starting to this one. Click here to check out the post!
The reason I say that is because I’m talking about steps to success with your business, and last weeks post is a HUGE step to a BIG success you need in your business!
Today I wanted to talk about goals. Once you find the words and the mission statement for your business you need to set goals for your business!
I’m not talking about thinking about goals, you need to write your goals down, talk to your husband, friend, etc. about these goals. It’s a proven fact that if you don’t write, say, and see your goals everyday that they wont become a reality.
I’m living proof of this method, and I wouldn’t be here telling you this if I didn’t believe in GOALS, and this stradegy of achieving them!
I like to set goals every year in categories. I keep a notebook for each category. My categories are client, business, spending/ budgeting, and personal goals.
I break these up into groups because I want to be solely focused on each category, because each category is very important to running a business.
After dividing up your goal categories make two columns on a piece of paper, name one short term and the other long term goals.
After writing your goals down take each set of goals and hang them where you can see them everyday! Yes, it feels so weird to do this, but I promise you it works!
I have even heard of people laminating their goals and putting them in the shower so they could see them everyday that way. Whatever works! Mine are currently at my desk in front of me to remind me where I need to go this year.
Of course every Goal doesn’t get met, but a lot of them do! I truly believe if I didn’t do this I wouldn’t be where I am today with my business.
Start thinking about what you want for your business, because if your not setting goals, how do you know where your going?
Thank you so much for reading this little blog of mine! I hope this helps you achieve and reach your goals in 2017!
With love,
Michelle
