Kristyn and Jack’s Roan Mountain engagement photos were such a joy to capture, and their story makes this session even more special. I first met Jack a few years ago when I photographed his professional headshots through a connection with my sister. When he began planning his proposal, my sister immediately encouraged him to book me as their wedding photographer.

From the very first meeting, I knew Kristyn was going to be a dream bride. We met for lunch to talk through her vision, and I instantly connected with her warm personality and thoughtful style. Her wedding inspiration reflects a soft, romantic aesthetic that translates beautifully into engagement photography.

Kristyn and Jack’s story began long before their engagement session. They grew up in the same town and attended the same school. With both of their mothers working as teachers, they spent early mornings together at school and quickly became friends. Over time, that friendship turned into something more. During high school, they began spending more time together, and Kristyn realized just how funny and easygoing Jack was. Their relationship has continued to grow ever since.

We planned their engagement photos at Roan Mountain, a location known for its scenic views and natural beauty. Although we originally scheduled their session for October, we had to postpone due to illness. Thankfully, we were able to reschedule in November, and the mountain landscape still provided a stunning backdrop for their photos.

Their Roan Mountain engagement session was filled with laughter, genuine moments, and incredible views. The cooler weather and soft seasonal colors created the perfect setting for romantic, timeless engagement photos.
