Johnson City Newborn Photographer | Baby Makenna’s Story
Sweet Makenna Elizabeth was born in February 2022, and documenting her arrival was such an honor. As a Johnson City newborn photographer, these are the moments that mean the most, capturing not just a new baby, but the story that brought them here.
Emily and Zach have been longtime clients of mine, and I’ve had the joy of photographing so many milestones in their lives, from their engagement to their beautiful wedding in 2018, and now stepping into parenthood. One of my favorite parts of being a newborn photographer in Johnson City, TN is getting to watch families grow over the years. There is something incredibly special about seeing couples fall in love, and then fall even deeper in love with their child.
As you’ll see in these images, Emily and Zach are completely in love with their little girl. And what makes Makenna’s story even more meaningful is the journey it took to get here.
Emily has always been intentional about her health, so when something didn’t feel quite right, she trusted her instincts and went to the doctor. In 2020, she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a condition that can make it more difficult to conceive. While there are physical challenges, the emotional side of infertility can be just as heavy.
After months of appointments, treatments, and prayers, Emily and Zach finally received the news they had been hoping for, their baby was on the way.
As a Johnson City TN newborn photographer, I meet many families with unique and powerful stories like this one. Infertility is more common than many people realize, affecting so many women and families. In recent years, more women have begun sharing their journeys, helping create a space filled with understanding, support, and hope.
Emily and Zach’s path to parenthood may not have been easy, but it is incredibly beautiful, and Makenna is such a perfect reflection of that love and perseverance. It was truly an honor to document this new chapter for their family.
