Hidden River Events Asheville NC Wedding | Margie & Tom’s Rainy Day Celebration

Margie and Tom were married on May 6th at Hidden River Events, a stunning farm wedding venue located just outside Asheville, NC in the small town of Swannanoa. This venue features one of the most beautiful gardens I’ve ever seen, making it a perfect backdrop for a memorable Asheville wedding.

Brooke and I drove down that morning, and in true Michelle fashion, I even got a speeding ticket on my birthday, no less! Despite the little mishap, we had such a wonderful day with Margie and Tom and couldn’t have asked for a better couple to celebrate with.

Margie and Tom met while working at Appalachia Service Project (ASP), an organization dedicated to serving communities across Appalachia. Their shared dedication to helping others perfectly reflects the kind, giving hearts they bring to their marriage.

These two are one of the sweetest couples I’ve photographed. You can tell how much Tom adores Margie just by the way he looks at her. Their reception speeches were full of laughter and love, highlighting their playful competitive sides, especially their Monopoly rivalry and Margie’s love for winning.

It rained for much of the day, but that didn’t dampen the celebration. After the wedding, Margie shared on Instagram how she married her best friend in the rain, a beautiful reminder that love isn’t about perfect weather, but about the decision to commit to each other for life. I was thrilled they embraced the rain because it led to some of the sweetest, most intimate photos I’ve ever captured. Rain boots and all, it was pure joy to document their love.
