Duke University Chapel Weddings

Back in the summer, I had the joy of photographing my friend Halie at Duke University Chapel, one of the most iconic locations for Duke University Chapel weddings. I grew up with Halie and played softball with her for years, so getting to capture her in such a meaningful and beautiful place made this session even more special.

During that season, we were visiting Duke Medical Center for my husband’s treatment. Being on campus often, I couldn’t help but think how incredible it would be to photograph at the chapel. If you’ve ever considered Duke University Chapel weddings, you know this location has a timeless, elegant feel that truly stands out.

It was a hot summer day in Durham, NC, and I quickly learned that parking near Duke University Chapel can be a bit of an adventure, especially when you’re walking in a wedding gown! Halie was so sweet and completely went with the flow. One unexpected highlight from our parking experience was getting to walk through the beautiful Duke Gardens on our way to the chapel. The scenery added even more charm to the day and reminded me why this area is so popular for Duke University Chapel weddings and portraits.

The moment we arrived, I was reminded just how breathtaking the chapel truly is. The architecture, the light, and the surrounding campus all come together to create a setting that feels almost magical. It’s easy to see why so many couples choose this location for their wedding day. Duke University Chapel weddings offer a unique combination of historic beauty and romantic atmosphere that’s hard to find anywhere else.

I only wish we had more time for Halie’s session because Duke’s campus has so many incredible spots to explore. From the chapel to the gardens and surrounding walkways, every corner offers something beautiful. If you’re planning Duke University Chapel weddings, you’ll definitely want to set aside time for portraits around campus, it’s truly worth it.

We still visit Duke throughout the year, and I’m always hoping for more opportunities to photograph there. It’s a place that holds so much meaning for us, and it continues to inspire me every time we return. Whether you’re planning a wedding or simply visiting, there’s something undeniably special about this location.

I hope you love these images as much as I loved capturing them! Halie, you are absolutely gorgeous. And a special thank you to Annie’s Room for the stunning dress, it was perfect for this session at Duke University Chapel.
