Chattanooga TN Engagement Photographers | Sunset Rock + Downtown Session

I can’t even begin to say how much I adore these two! As Chattanooga TN engagement photographers, Dustin and I had the absolute best time spending a couple of days with Millie and Josh for their engagement session.

Millie and Josh actually met while working as summer camp counselors. On their very first day, they bonded over music, something that fits perfectly since they are both music teachers (and I might add, Millie is also an incredibly talented photographer herself!). Just one week later, their friendship started turning into something much more.

They were sweet enough to travel all the way from Jackson, TN for their engagement photos in Chattanooga, and we were so excited to explore the city with them.

We started their session at Sunset Rock in Chattanooga, one of the most iconic views in the area. If you’ve never been, it’s absolutely worth visiting, but for photography, especially at sunset, it can get very crowded. On this night, there were easily 30+ people enjoying the overlook, which made things a bit challenging as we carefully worked around the crowd to capture their photos.

Because of the crowds and timing, we made a game time decision to return the next morning for a sunrise session instead. The original plan was sunset at Sunset Rock followed by a downtown Chattanooga sunrise session, and while we adjusted the order, we still got both beautiful locations in.

The sunrise downtown Chattanooga session ended up being perfect, peaceful, quiet, and full of soft light that made everything feel romantic and cinematic.

One of the most memorable parts of this session was watching Millie face her fear of heights at Sunset Rock. When people say they’re scared of heights, I usually think they’re just a little nervous, but Millie is genuinely terrified. And yet, she was an absolute rock star. She stood on the edge of the overlook and trusted us completely. I was so proud of her!

Josh was right there supporting her every step of the way, and the way they care for each other is so evident in everything they do.

Millie and Josh, we had so much fun with you both during your Chattanooga engagement session. We are so excited for your wedding in May and cannot wait to see everything come full circle at the camp where your story began.
