Summer Wedding at Chateau Selah | Paula & Brian

Paula and Brian’s romantic summer wedding took place on August 27 at Chateau Selah, a stunning wedding venue in Blountville, TN known for its scenic views and elegant atmosphere.

A Love Story That Began in College

Paula and Brian first met in college, where they shared a class together. What started as casual interactions soon turned into something more after Paula attended a get-together with friends—where Brian happened to be. From that moment on, they began spending more time together, helping each other with class projects and building a strong foundation that led them to their wedding day at Chateau Selah.

A Cultural Celebration at a Blountville Wedding Venue

One of the most memorable parts of this Chateau Selah wedding was the way Paula and Brian incorporated Paula’s Brazilian heritage into their reception. Brazilian music filled the evening, bringing energy and meaning to the celebration as two families and cultures came together in East Tennessee.

A Unique Wedding Ceremony Tradition

During their ceremony at Chateau Selah, Paula and Brian chose a deeply personal alternative to traditional unity ceremonies. Instead of a unity candle or sand ceremony, they created a wine box tradition. Inside the box, they placed two handwritten letters, one from Paula and one from Brian, sharing their feelings on their wedding day. The box was locked with the intention of reopening it on their fifth anniversary. At that time, they will read their letters, share a bottle of wine, and write new letters to continue the tradition every five years. It was a meaningful and emotional moment that made their Chateau Selah wedding ceremony truly unforgettable.

A Joyful Reception at Chateau Selah

The reception at Chateau Selah was filled with joy, dancing, and heartfelt moments. One of the highlights of the evening was watching Paula’s grandmother light up the dance floor, such a special memory that perfectly captured the spirit of the day. From the music to the meaningful traditions, this summer wedding in Blountville, TN was a beautiful reflection of Paula and Brian’s love story.
