Carvers Gap Engagement Photographer | Amanda + James Engagement Session

Carvers Gap will forever hold a special place in my heart as a Carvers Gap engagement photographer. If you’ve never been, it’s one of the most breathtaking locations in East Tennessee, absolutely worth the visit if you’re willing to hike for the view.

I will say, depending on the season, you can expect anything from strong winds to freezing temperatures and even heavy snow. But no matter the conditions, the views at Carvers Gap are always worth it.

Every time I photograph here, I fall even more in love with this place. It feels like a quiet reminder of God’s creation, unfiltered, peaceful, and absolutely incredible. There’s truly nothing else like it in Tennessee. And yes… I carried about 40 lbs of gear up the mountain for this one. Totally worth it.

I actually met Amanda a few years ago when I photographed her sister’s wedding, so it was such an honor when she reached out and asked me to be her engagement and wedding photographer as well. Amanda and James are such a sweet couple. James is incredibly thoughtful and emotional, in the best way. He even got teary just thinking about their engagement session, and honestly, I completely understand that feeling. I’m a crier too, so I felt that deeply.

Their connection is so genuine, and photographing them together at Carvers Gap was such a joy. The way they love each other is calm, sincere, and beautiful to witness. I am beyond excited for their wedding next year and cannot wait to capture the next chapter of their story.
