When it comes to planning a wedding in the South, there is a wealth of stunning venues that cater to a variety of tastes and styles. Whether you’re dreaming of a rustic barn wedding, a grand estate celebration, or an intimate garden gathering, the Southern states have something to offer every couple. For instance, Tennessee’s Marblegate Farm in Friendsville is a popular choice, offering beautiful landscapes and a rich waterfront backdrop.
Carlie and Matt’s Marblegate Farm Wedding
Located just outside of metro Knoxville, Marblegate Farm has a fascinating history. More than 70 years ago, amid East Tennessee’s marble industry, a train transporting massive marble blocks derailed on a peninsula in Friendsville, TN. Consequently, the marble was left at the site where it fell, along with the abandoned railway. In 1996, Bill and Donna Cobble acquired the land and aptly named it Marblegate Farm. Notably, the unprocessed marble was used to craft the striking stone pillars at the entrance of the venue, which guide visitors to a waterfront adorned with marble. Today, this site continues to blend historical charm with breathtaking scenery.
Rustic Barns
In addition to Marblegate Farm, rustic barn venues are incredibly popular in Southern states such as Tennessee, Virginia, and Kentucky. These venues beautifully combine the charm of the countryside with the elegance of a wedding. Imagine exchanging vows beneath wooden beams, with soft fairy lights twinkling above. Furthermore, the natural surroundings enhance the serene atmosphere, making barn venues ideal for couples who love the outdoors.
Elegant Estates
Alternatively, for those who prefer a venue with timeless elegance, Southern estates offer a blend of sophistication and charm. These venues are perfect for large, formal weddings. The manicured gardens, stately architecture, and expansive grounds create a sense of grandeur.
Vineyards and Wineries
Moreover, vineyards and wineries have become increasingly popular wedding venues in the South. The lush greenery and scenic views provide a romantic setting, while the availability of local wines is an added bonus.
Mountain Retreats
For couples seeking a more secluded and natural setting, mountain retreats in the Appalachian region are a top choice. The rolling hills and misty mountains create a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for an intimate ceremony.
In conclusion, the South is full of rich cultural history and gorgeous landscapes, where any couple can find their dream wedding venue, no matter their style preference.
With love,
