Madison and Tyler became husband and wife on a beautiful summer day at the Hidden Meadows venue in Afton, Tennessee. Hidden Meadows sits on a 45 acre farm owned by Mark and Lisa Harbin. The Harbins’ goal is to provide a venue with a Christian atmosphere in their community.
The Area
Afton is a small town located in northeast Tennessee with just under 5,000 residents. This is a small community within Greene County that holds a tremendous amount of history. Greene County has several attractions, like the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site and the Museum of Appalachia. Another big attraction for history buffs is the David Crockett Birthplace State Park.
What brings several annual visitors to the area is outdoor recreational activities like floating the Nolichucky River. Famous hiking spots include Margarette Falls, Chimney Rocks, and, of course, the Appalachian Trail.
The Venue
Hidden Meadows is a great option for outdoors lovers as it gives couples an option of getting married outside in the warmer months or inside the barn during the cold months. Every piece of the property is picturesque, like a scene from a wedding in a romantic movie. From the log house that’s over 200 years old (which is one of the oldest structures in the Afton area) to the waterfall across the street. The barn holds nearly 300 guests and has rocking chairs lining the outside for relaxation.
Outsiders have a misconception about the Appalachia, but those who live here know the truth. This place is a breath of fresh air. Even though the city is basically right down the road, you feel like you’re way out in the wilderness surrounded by nothing but rolling mountains and starry nights. The Hidden Meadows venue gives you that “lost in the back country, never looking back” kind of peace.
With love,
