I think this could be one of my favorite sessions to date. I’m so thankful the Calhoun family trusted my vision for their session. I have always wanted to photograph a session at Grayson Highlands State Park. Mainly for the wild ponies. You guys know how much I love animals!

The only thing about Grayson Highlands State Park, is that it’s not guaranteed that you will encounter wild ponies during your visit. The wild ponies roam wild. 

I totally prayed we would have ponies for this session. When we arrived I had no idea where to go to find them, so we just picked a spot. As soon as we got settled in at our location we heard rustling in the trees behind us. Here came two wild ponies! A mama pony and her baby! You guys!!! I seriously lost it with excitement! All my photography dreams came true. I also realize this post sounds over the top, but it’s true! These images are magical. Wouldn’t you agree?

The ponies were super friendly and stayed close by. The baby pony was over the top friendly, and she really liked Kenna! I’m pretty sure the baby pony would have went home with us if we offered, ha ha. 

I hope you guys enjoy this session as much as I did. Let’s go back soon!
