I met Millie on Instagram, and I honestly can’t remember how it all came about, but I do remember seeing her proposal picture that one of her bridesmaids December took. I remember reading Millie’s words and thinking to myself how sweet this girl must be. Sometimes things just pop up in your Instagram feed, sometimes you can’t help but engage in conversation. I’m so glad that I saw her post that day. I gained a really sweet friend. I adore Millie, and when I met Josh I fell in love with him too!
Millie and Josh met at a Christain summer camp called Lake Shore. They both worked there over the summer. One night during worship Josh was comforting a camper. Looking over at Josh, Millie told her sister, I’m going to marry him! Here they are a few years later getting married at the summer camp where they met!
When Brooke and I arrived we stayed in one of the cabins at the camp. Millie had us a wecome basket with all her and Josh’s favorite camp snacks, t-shirts, and even some survival things we didn’t even think to bring! I actually called Millie, because we weren’t expecting anything to make sure we weren’t in someone elses cabin!
I’ve honestly never met a more thoughtful person than Millie. With every wedding we leave with little imprints on our hearts from each couple. I think for me that is the best part of being in this industry. When I get the opportunity to know each couple, that is why I do what I do.
This year I’ve seen more rain than I have ever in the past few years of shooting weddings! We are up to six outdoor weddings that have had rain this year! Click here to see our last rainy wedding, I’m in love with how the pictures turned out! Brooke and I laugh because our new wedding shoe attire is rainboots. The day of their wedding it rained, I’m talking poured! I have never seen it rain that hard on a wedding day (I do have a wedding since this one I will share in a few weeks where it rained harder than this one).
We worked around the rain, and we got some of the prettiest images! The rain cleared for us for about an hour, we were able to get some gorgeous portraits, and you can’t even tell it rained! At the reception a storm rolled in and the power went out, we turned on video lights and continued to party! Millie sang a beauitful song by Needtobreath (my favorite band) to Josh, and it was the sweetest ever!
Millie and Josh, I am so glad I met you two! You have been such a blessing to me! I’m excited to see what your future holds! I’m glad that I can call you both friends. Love you two dearly!
