The wedding dress is one of my favorite parts to a wedding day. Deep down every bride wants to feel and look beautiful on their wedding day. I can always see this glow that my brides get when they put their dress on. It’s like they become Cinderella.
Today I wanted to share some of my favorite wedding dress designers, and a few tips on finding the perfect fit and style for your body type.
Searching for the perfect gown can be hard. My hope is that maybe some of today’s tips will inspire you when you start looking for your perfect dress.

Finding the perfect fit
Real Simple has a great article that had so much great information about this topic! I’m sharing some of the most common fittings on my blog today, to read even more in depth from their post click here.
Pear shaped: A skirt that gradually flares out from the natural waist line to the floor will highlight the narrowness of the midsection. Sturdier fabrics will help keep this shape. Having shoulder straps and a v line neck will also showcase a slender upper body.
Busty: Try finding a dress with a scooped neckline. It will open up your face and wont show too much cleavage. If you love the look of strapless gowns, choose one that has a slight dip like a sweetheart neckline, rather than a style that goes straight across (which will make your bust appear even larger and more shelf like).
Plus sized: An empire dress with a skirt line that starts just below the bust that flows into a gradual A line. Be sure that the empire seem does not start at the bust, this will cause an unflattering break in your mid line and your bust.
Apple Shaped: Look for a dress that cinches in at the smallest point of your waistline then one that gradually flares to an A line. Try finding a bodice with texture, like lace or ruching. The most flattering neckline is a deep V, this helps draw the eyes more vertical rather than horizontal.
Tall: A simple silhouette, try to emphasize your natural shape by incorporating a longer hem that sweeps the floor, if you decide to have a dress with sleeves make sure your sleeves are slightly longer than your wrist.
Straight figures: Try on a Sheath dress with a V neck that is cinched at the bust. This will create the look of curves. Also try a ball gown that cinches in at your natural waist that has a full flowing skirt. This will showcase your slenderness and give you more hip.
