Have you ever been with two people that were so deeply in love it radiated from them? Well these two did that for us on their wedding day! Emily and Drew beamed with pure joy, and their beautiful friends and family did as well.
Emily and Drew were married on Monday October 10 at The Coffey Barn located in Cleveland TN. Emily and Drew met while attending college at Southern. Drew was good friends with Emily’s roommate. Emily met Drew at her roommates birthday party.
Emily noticed Drew because he was so tall. Emily and Drew are the perfect height for each other, you will see what I’m talking about in these sweet pictures 😉 . In school they both had similar schedules and they would pass each other on their way to class. They soon started hanging out together with their mutual friends.
Emily’s favorite band is Jars of Clay. They were planning a concert in Atlanta, so Drew asked Emily if she would like to go. She of course said yes! At the concert Drew asked Emily if they could start dating and they have been together ever since.
Their sophomore year in college they both decided they wanted to do missionary work the following year. They spent a year apart that next year, Drew in Kenya and Emily in Pohnpei. That year they were apart they made a point to Skype each other every Tuesday. They both realized after spending a year a part that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
The Spring Emily and Drew graduated Drew decided to surprise Emily with a trip to Germany to celebrate their graduation. Drew planned a picnic with a German meal overlooking the banks of Mount Säuling overlooking a castle. Drew proposed to Emily there!
Two months after Emily and Drew were engaged Drew had a horrible bicycle accident. Emily was in Maryland visiting family when she got a phone call from his family. Drew was in ICU fighting for his life! He had a traumatic brain injury.
The next morning Emily flew home to be with Drew. Drew was in ICU for a few weeks and then started therapy after. At Emily’s reception her maid of honor spoke about the accident and she also spoke about Emily and Drew and their love for each other.
I felt their love through her speech, you could feel the love between everyone in that room. These two are one of the strongest couples we have had the pleasure to meet. Sometimes we don’t know what life will bring us, but knowing the one who holds our future is enough. Keeping faith is enough and trusting the Lords promise that he will never leave us or forsake us. These two are role models to me. I’m so thankful I was able to be there for their day!
Emily and Drew, you both are precious. Thank you both for letting us share this with you. We enjoyed every minute of your day and you brought joy to our hearts! I wish you both forever happiness and I pray the Lord will bless you both.
With love,
Michelle
