Kingsport TN Allandale Mansion wedding photography
Laura and Drew were married in January at The Gallery wedding venue located in Johnson City, TN. Check out their beautiful wedding here!
The inspiration behind this session was something I wanted to do for Laura and Drew. It was very important to them on their wedding day that they didn’t see each other beforehand. Their wedding was at 4pm and we just didn’t have enough time to get outside portraits of the two of them after the ceremony because it was dark.
Laura had family coming in that she hadn’t seen in several years, including her mom. I cherish and respect their decision to have a session like this after the wedding, because that gave them the time they needed with their families. That is truly what this is all about!
We chose Allandale Mansion for the location because the grounds are beautiful and we would have a back up plan, since the forecast was calling for rain. The weather never wants to corporate for these types of events! The rain held off (thankfully) and it ended up being a pretty overcast day, and it wasn’t COLD!
We had originally scheduled their session a few days after the wedding and a HUGE snow storm decided to come through with 6 inches of snow and 3 degree temperatures. So we opted to wait for a better day! I am so glad we did I must admit I was prepared to wear my snow suit and long johns, but I’m glad we waited for the day we chose!
Laura and Drew it has been so good getting to know you both! I can tell Drew is crazy about you! He was so sweet during the session, the way he looks at you is absolutely precious! Love you both!
With love,
Michelle
