If you haven’t heard it’s engagement season! I talked about this a few weeks ago on the blog and you can check out what I’m talking about here!
After you get engaged all the fun stuff starts! Tons of planning and preparation for one special day for you and your families to enjoy. I’m so excited for you! This is one of the best times in your life and it goes by to fast, so make sure to breathe and embrace it 🙂 .
With planning your wedding comes choosing your venue, flowers, and photographer. I’ve got a few tips for you to check out on those subjects here!
Now that you have found your photographer you most likely will be planning an engagement session. If you haven’t planned on doing an engagement session I’m going to give you a few reasons why you should rethink that decision.
Save the dates..
Most everyone that you want to attend your wedding needs to know about the wedding ahead of time. Save the dates are great way to keep all your friends and family informed! What better way to send them a notification about your wedding than an awesome picture of you and your love. Sure you could send one without any pictures, people do it all the time but if your wanting to really personalize your event this is the way to go!
Let’s hang out..
I know.. what does hanging out have to do with photography? That’s what photographers do when we take your pictures. We laugh, sometimes cry lol just kidding… check out the video here and that session here! Really in all seriousness just hanging out is a good thing because it’s getting you comfortable with a camera. That sounds weird right? But really it’s kind of weird having someone follow you with a camera. So hanging out for a little bit just makes you more relaxed and by the end of your session your friends with your photographer rather than.. hey this is my photographer, your like hey this is my friend. I think we all could agree that we just want to be friends 🙂
Going for a test drive…
No I’m not talking about a car 😉 . Scheduling an engagement session allows you to go for a test drive. Engagement sessions will show you how your photographer interacts with you and this is a good indication for how your wedding day will go. It’s a win for everyone 🙂
Beautiful pictures…
This is such a special time in your life! You adore each other and you need pictures of that! I love when I go to wedding receptions and see the couples engagement pictures displayed. They mean something, those pictures represent the beginning of a journey. I honestly believe 10 years from now you will look back and remember who you guys are together, the clothes you wore, and you will see the laughter that you both have. Now that is something to cherish.
Just thought I would give you a different perspective to think about…
Happy wedding planning 🙂
With love,
Michelle
