A few Sunday’s ago Dustin and I were running late. The intention that morning was to go to church like we always do and then after that run errands for the day. We both hate being late ugh! You know the feeling if your one of those people, it drives you nuts if your late and it just puts you in a cranky mood. That’s us! Dustin suggested we go on and run our errands and skip church even though we were ready and being “fashionably late” wasn’t what we both wanted. I thought about it for a minute… I’m not going to lie cracker barrel for late breakfast sounded nice, but God spoke to me in one of those ways when you know you’ve done something wrong and you just need to go do it.
So we went to church anyway “fashionably late”. I’m so thankful that we did because I got to hear Kojo speak. Kojo was from South Africa and received one of these boxes pictured above. He told his story of how he found Jesus and he was able to find his faith in him from this box. This box to anyone is just a simple box, but for Kojo it changed his life and hearing his story really changed mine. His story changed my perspective of what we do every single day. How much “stuff” we have that we take for granted. This box was important. Just this ordinary box to some but because someone cared enough to put things in it thatĀ he had never been able to have and because that one person thought so much to think about what went in this box. Kojo found hope.
Kojo continued to share his testimony and I sat there in awe of him. You could truly see Jesus beaming off of him. He sang Jesus loves me to the congregation while he sang you could feel his happiness because he knows he has a savor that loves him and you could truly tell he loves the Lord.
This one box changed Kojo forever. Through this box Kojo was able to minister to his family. Just this ordinary box to some ended up doing AMAZINGĀ things for his life.
I’m thankful I followed in what the lord wanted us to do because if I hadn’t of went I wouldn’t have heard Kojo speak. I needed to hear him because he changed my thoughts on just this ordinary box. He showed me what it could do.
Every year we find an organization to give to for Christmas this year Kojo inspired us to give to Operation Christmas Child because of his testimony.
Have a blessed week!
With love,
Michelle
