October 21, 2015
Last month we had a much needed vacation (like I’ve not been anywhere in TWO YEARS). My whole family went and we caravanned on the way down for 10 LONG hours. The drive going down wasn’t so bad… on the way back was a different story. This was our first time going to Destin, FL and I must tell you if you’ve not been you need to go it’s beautiful. In my opinion it was totally worth my booty going numb on the 10 hour long drive.
We stayed in a really nice gated community with cute little houses all painted pastel colors fully equipped with a pool and workout facility (which I didn’t use). My sister was determined to use everything, she always wants to get the full experience everywhere she goes. We ate at some really good places. I might have gained 10 pounds while I was there! I’m a complete foodie so I take advantage of good food when I see it ha! I think my favorite restaurant was McGuire’s. McGuire’s is an Irish pub (totally my style) if y’all like meat and taters then this would be your place. The décor is really neat dollar bills completely line the walls and ceiling. We heard there’s over a million dollars in dollar bills in that place. I can believe it!
We of course went shopping and literally I must be sheltered or something because in my mind I was like oh, I’ve not bought anything in awhile so I went wild! I’m not having buyers remorse but still, I might have went a little overboard! I came home with a Free People dress and I’m in love with it (my husband says it looks like Harry Potters cloak (I’m laughing) he starts sounding like Hogwarts when he talks about it. I know y’all are scared now but it’s super cute so no worries. I was so excited to find out that Destin had an Alter’d State, if you’ve followed my blog you would know that I am in LOVE with this store and any chance that I get to go to one I’m there. I of course was in there for 2 hours and I thought my sister was going to kill me! They have so much stuff and I LOVE IT!
This trip was a super special one in that I left my digital camera at home. I decided that I would leave it at home because I wanted to do something for me. I shoot film all the time for clients but I honestly don’t shoot enough for just me. When I got my scans back I literally cried not because they were horrible but because they were truly beautiful and getting these scans back made me realize exactly who I am as an artist. It makes me have a deeper passion for what I do for my clients every time I pick up my camera. Only this time I picked up my camera for me. Film stocks Ektar 100, Portra 160.
I adore Instagram, and Insta- stories even more! I share the good, bad, and ugly. With real life talks, to products and clothes that I love, and of course everything related to photography!
