Over this past year I did some soul searching… I searched for what makes me happy. We all deep down want to be happy with what we are doing right? I found that over the past year every time I talked to someone about their wedding my heart instantly had happiness. I have fallen in love with love. Love isn’t just between the marriage that you will join together. Love is found in your friends and family that are celebrating with you.
I found that every consultation I left so excited not only to get to know you and your soul mate but the stories of how you met and your plans for your future together. I fell in love with family members you mentioned that you haven’t seen in 5 years.
This started about 2 years ago when I met some of my first brides Morgan and Samantha. All of this was right before my eyes I just never saw it before. They thought so much of me to refer their friends now 2 years later. That is how I met Laura and Emily. I remember the day I met Emily she beamed with excitement about her and Bryan’s wedding and the plans for the future of going off to Savanah after the wedding to start their life together. I remember her talking about her grandfather and how special he was to her and how my heart broke when he passed away from cancer just 3 weeks before the wedding. I loved that she wore his Mickey Mouse watch for the wedding because he meant so much to her.
I remembered Laura from Samantha and Casey’s wedding and now it’s her turn to marry her soul mate. I had the best dinner with her. I not only fell in love with her and Drew while I was there but I fell in love with what Laura said about their families and I am beyond excited to meet them! I had the best time laughing about her crazy cat and the possibility of having a group photo of all the fur babies 😉 . I can’t wait for their engagement session in Cosby, TN. I’m excited to hear stories of their camping adventures.
A year or so ago I met Sheree and Usbec. I instantly had a connection with them both. I fell in love with their life story of how they got to where they are today and how they met. At this point it wasn’t just about their wedding for me. I had fallen in love with them for who they are. Here we are one year later and I had the opportunity to photograph her sister Selinda and Robbie’s wedding. What an amazing experience to share these special memories with this family that I have grown to love and adore over this past year.
I also met Kayla and Zak. I instantly fell in love with them both the day of their engagement session. We talked about Zak becoming a police officer and Kayla’s love for photography. Their wedding was beautiful and getting to know their friends and families was such a wonderful experience.
That’s how I met Kim and Evan through Kayla. Their wedding was full of love and heartfelt stories. I remember at their rehearsal dinner feeling so blessed and how lucky I was to have a job that I can be surrounded by love. To have the opportunity to hear how each family felt about Kim and Evan as they spoke about their love for each other and their ministry work. What a blessing it is to be apart of something like a wedding because its really bigger than that.
I met Lesha and I was thrilled that she chose me out of so many photographers living in California and traveling here for her wedding. She was so excited to have Michel’s family come here to enjoy southern hospitality and to experience Tennessee for all it’s beauty. I loved getting to know them and their families. I remember her grandmother was such an important person in her life and they talked about her at the reception in their speech that she held off the rain :). It’s moments like this that make me realize why I choose to specialize in wedding photography.
The past few weddings I’ve photographed made me realize all of these things have something in common… the connection and love between each other. What an honor it is to have the opportunity to show others what their love looks like through photographs. To tell a story without saying any words. To be a shoulder to cry on when you don’t know how to fix a problem. That is exactly why I do what I do. I do this because I love people. It is instilled in my heart to serve others and it makes my heart happy 🙂 .
Truly blessed,
Michelle
